How to create a Presto Entity

Since version 3.1.0-KickOff, Ontologies have been referred to as "Entities" in the Control Panel. This does not alter any functionality; the nomenclature has simply been changed for a better understanding of the concept.

Available since version 4.3.0-Quest.

User Interface: 5.3.2-Ultimate

Introduction

This type of Entity will allow you to cross-reference your information with other Entities of different DataType types.

Steps

Create the Entity

From the Control Panel, navigate to the Development > My Entities menu.

This will take us to the list of available Entities. To create the Entity, click on the "+" button at the top right of the screen.

From the different Entities that we will be able to create, we will select the "Creation Presto Entity" one:

Fill in general information

This will open the Entity creation wizard, where we will have to enter some basic information:

  • Select a Catalog: in this drop-down menu you will have to choose the Entity store from which you want to create the Presto type Entity. By default, the "realtimedb" catalog will appear. If a user with the "administrator" role has generated other catalogs, they will also appear. Also, this type of user will have the option to create new catalogs through a presto connection (more information).

  • Select a Schema: in the drop-down menu you can choose the corresponding scheme from the selected catalog.

  • Select an Entity: in this third drop-down list the existing Entities in the schema will be listed, where we will have to select the one we are interested in. If the chosen catalog is "realtimedb", we can choose one of the Entities of the Platform.

  • Identification: the unique name with which to identify the Entity.

  • Meta-Information: tags to characterize the Entity, which will be used for filtering when searching.

  • Description: extended descriptive text of the Entity, such as its use, properties, characteristics, etc.

In addition, we have some more options to characterize the Entity:

  • Active: so that the Entity works or is blocked.

  • Public entity: if we want the Entity to be public, or if we want it to be private.

Once the options have been decided, click on the "Create" button to complete the creation of the Entity.

You will then return to the Entities list, where the newly created Entity will appear.
