Introduction

Inside CaaS Rancher 2.X and Openshift, it is possible to enable monitoring of Kubernetes components using Prometheus and Grafana. As an extension to this monitoring, the metrics generated by the Onesait Platform modules have been integrated with this monitoring system.

In this way, from the same monitoring tool, metrics can be consulted not only at Kubernetes level, but also at the level of each module, for example, RAM memory status of each process. Some modules even allow more detailed metrics of their operation, for example, the logs processed by each Dataflow, status of Kafka consumers, number of operations in the different databases, etc.

Operation

Enable advanced monitoring

Advanced monitoring is an independent module of Onesait Platform and must therefore be requested like any other module within the subscription you have.

Accessing advanced monitoring

To access the new monitoring you must have an authorized user in Rancher / Openshift and access Grafana from these tools.

Rancher

To access from Rancher go to the Cluster Explorer view:

Then select the Monitoring application from the menu:

And finally choose the Grafana option:
