New version of Digital Twin on W3C Web of Things (WoT) standard
Available since version 6.1.0-Warcraft
Introduction
Onesait Platform has been integrating the Digital Twin concept for several versions, allowing the modelling, development, deployment and orchestration of these.
At the time it was integrated by Mozilla's proposal with its WebThings. However, WebThings has been an independent project for some time now, and W3C Web Of Things is currently the standard in this field.
Therefore, it has been decided to change the standard supported by the Onesait Platform, and from version 6.1.0-Warcraft Platform's digital twins are based on WoT.
How It Works
We have tried to make the change as transparent as possible, so that when creating a new Digital Twin, the differences are minimal.
The first step to be taken is to create a digital twin template. To do this, from the Control Panel, navigate to the menu Main Concepts > My Digital Twins WoT.
The list of Digital Twins available to the user shall then be displayed:
To access the templates, click on the ‘Templates’ button at the top right of the screen:
The list of available Templates will be displayed. To create a new one, click on the ‘+’ button at the top right.
The new Template Creation Wizard will appear, where the main difference is the appearance of some new fields, such as the ‘Read-Only’ and ‘Write-Only’ selectors:
Once the Template has been created, you can return to the list of Digital Twins and register a new Digital Client using the definition generated in the template, adding connection parameters:
All other parts of the digital client implementation continue to function as before.
