Menus: How to configure the Control Panel's menu?

This functionality allows the ADMINISTRATOR users to rearrange the Control Panel for the different roles, adding, removing or simply reordering options.

The current tutorial will show you how to do this.

To do this, as an Administrator, access the Menu Managment menu in the ADMINISTRATION tab.

Once in, you will find hte list of all the roles enabled in the platform, the creation date and the modification date of their menu, and the set of options allow to view the menu of each role, edit it or deleting the changes to return to the original menu settings.

In the View it option, you can see the menu configuration as a tree. This possibility is also available in the Edit option, along with the chance to edit the menu, either in tree, text (Json) or code line formats.

To show how the menu edition works, the option User Management in the sub-menu Administration will be removed.

and we will add a new tab in the menu with the previously removed option.

To do this, firstly we will access the Edit option in the Role_Administrator. Once in the editor, you can select the edition option you want. For this tutorial, we will use tree, because it is fairly simple and intuitive.

To quickly insert a new tab, you can duplicate an already-created one, then modify it with the needed changes. As this new tab will be very similar to the Administration tab, we will duplicate it, then change the title to User and change the icon. Lastly, we will modify the sub-menu. In this case, as the only option will be User Management, we will delete every option but that one

Having created the new tab, we only need to remove the option User Management from the sub-menu Administration.

To save these changes, select the Edit option in the lower part of the screen. You will be returned to the menu list, with the new changes updated as you can see in the image.

If you late rwant to return to the initial configuration, you only need to select the Reset option, confirm that you want to go back to the default estate, and you will be automatically returned to that configuration.
